Motor Operated Valve
Any device that regulates the flow of gases or liquids or slurries by opening, closing or partially obstructing passageways is known as a valve. Extremely common as pipe-plumbing fitting, these devices are found in almost all households and are available in a variety of sizes and fittings corresponding to the requirement of the user. The most common ones are ball valve and butterfly valve. Valves are also classified according to how they are actuated, and the categories span over hydraulic, pneumatic, manual, solenoid and motor. The valves found at home are mostly manual, but for large valves used in commercial applications as well as the extremely large ones used at power plants for electricity generation, operating a valve manually is impossible and pneumatically or hydraulically is too expensive, in such scenarios we use motor operated valves.
Big pipe lines require big valves which need strong torque for On/OFF condition, the popular pneumatic controls went out of fashion with increasing size of the valves. Even though we can use a Pneumatic Valve with a double acting piston actuator, the total cost of deployment goes up since the accessories involved cost far more. The involvement of pneumatic amplifier and large actuators increases cost factors too. However by using a Motor Operated Valve we reduce effective costs, since deployment consists of a motor that rotates a gear-set which in turn rotates the valve. This system when deployed correctly is energy efficient and has lower setup costs than other available options.
The only major concern with these systems is Valve Stem Seal Leakage in which case the motor can be put into a compromising condition and it might malfunction. By placing the rotor in inside a case that contains the fluid pressure and keeping the electric motor stator isolated outside in a case the problem can be solved. These valves can also be slow-operating solenoid valve enabled which prevent water hammer or liquid velocity shock.
The Toyota Motor Story - How Was Lexus Born?
It was more than a philosophical matter for Toyota Motor because of the money involved. The company, while comfortably in the black, could ill afford to pursue a misguided vanity project. But some argued it stood to lose more from staying out of the luxury market than by jumping in when its most loyal customers - baby boomers - were moving into their peak earning years and would soon be looking to buy more expensive cars. Toyota Motor wanted a high-end product line to prevent these loyal customers from defecting to other brands. The idea was to build a gilded bridge between the compact-car buyers of today and the luxury-car buyers of tomorrow. What's more, it also needed to safeguard its revenue in an era of increased U.S. import barriers, to stay neck-and-neck with Japanese rivals who were planning their own luxury lines, and to keep its engineers motivated with new challenges.
At home, it sold the stately Century, a boat of a car with a 5.0-liter V-12 engine, used to chauffeur Japanese CEOs and cabinet ministers around the crowded streets of Tokyo. The often empty front passenger seat on this and other Japanese luxury cars was built with a removable cushion so that the back-seat passenger could stretch his legs through to the front seat. But at the equivalent of US5,000, the car was deemed too expensive to compete in the mass luxury market in the U.S. Besides, Toyota Motor needed to update its export line-up with a car-lover's car designed primarily to be driven by its owner, not a stately limousine to be driven around in.
Most significantly, Toyota Motor sensed opportunity. Present manufacturers of high end vehicles had risen and gone beyond the needs of the brand new era of car purchasers. Hence, Eiji Toyoda presented the strategy to penetrate towards the high end market. 6 years along with 50 percent of a billion dollars later, the initial Lexus was born. To Toyoda, it was not a matter of cost, only a matter of time. In his words: "For us, this was not only a tremendous challenge and a dream to fulfill but also an inevitable decision." Yet even the most zealous proponents of a Japanese luxury-car program in the early 1980s could scarcely imagine what Toyota Motor would unleash upon unsuspecting rivals a decade later.

Synthetic Motor Oil - Is it Better Than Natural Motor Oil?
Natural motor oil is made from crude oil, also known as petroleum. Synthetic oil is made, or synthesized, artificially. The first research to find lubricants that could replace natural oils was done in the late 1930s and the early 1940s, both in Germany and US. There are several types, both totally synthetic oils and semi-synthetic oils that are blends of natural mineral oil and synthetic oil. Synthetic motor oils are, just as the natural motor oils, hydrocarbon composites, so you can always use synthetic oil if you want the best lubricant possible. This also means you can mix them if you want to.
So why would you want to use synthetic motor oil? Its viscosity performance is much better than that of natural oil, leading to less mechanical wear and better overall performance. It provides better lubrication on cold starts, and is more stable than natural oil. This, in addition to less loss of vapor while you drive, contributes to less mechanical wear, which again means that the engine will last longer. It also means that the oil don't have to be changed as often as natural oil, so there will be less oil waste to the benefit of both the environment and the car owners finances. To further improve the environment and the personal economy, using synthetic motor oil will mean a more efficient use of fuel for some cars and engines. If you are going to do high speed driving or drive for an extended period of time in extreme heat, synthetic oil works much better than natural oil. It will also give better engine performance for heavy loads.
There are some disadvantages with synthetic motor oil. Firstly, it is often more expensive than natural oil. The lower friction used to be a problem in some situations, as it couldn't be used for the first runs with a vehicle because friction was desired to cause proper wear and tear. This is no longer a problem, as engines continuously get better made cars often come with synthetic motor oil from the factory. For normal driving the advantages aren't as big as for more extreme conditions, for normal city-driving somewhere without extreme temperatures you might not notice a big difference. But as it is as good as the natural one, synthetic motor oil will be a safe bet in many cases.

DC Motor
A DC motor can be described as a simple electric motor that requires a battery or a DC supply to make them run. Technically speaking it has two magnets which have opposite polarity and an electrical coil which works as an electromagnet. The electromagnetic force of the magnet generates a torque which makes the motor turn. Any motor will have the six basic parts of axle, rotor, stator, commutator, field magnet and brushes.
